Equity education and inclusion in the labour market

In the Social Sector, the Volkart Foundation supports strong social cohesion in Switzerland, based on equity in education and optimal inclusion in the labour market. Our funding therefore focuses on the access to education, to vocational training and the to the labour market for people who are disadvantaged or excluded due to their migration background and socio-economic circumstances.

The Volkart Foundation supports projects, programmes and initiatives that leverage synergies, tackle societal challenges in a sustainable way and strive for systemic change. We favour ambitious, innovative ideas, bold approaches and interdisciplinary approaches.

The Volkart Foundation emphasises systemic change so that the causes of societal challenges can be addressed sustainably. We promote ambitious and innovative projects, interdisciplinary ideas, and bold approaches. We also support pilot projects, offer the  «Projekte mit Wirkung» training course, provide operating subsidies, and promote organisational development. In order to achieve a major leverage effect, we look to cooperate with other foundations, raise awareness of initiatives, and actively contribute towards an exchange of knowledge.

What we do not support:

• Issues that do not directly fit in with the above-mentioned focus areas and the Volkart Foundation’s overall strategy
