Ecology
Climate protection, soil protection and biodiversity conservation
The Volkart Foundation supports projects and initiatives in the fields of ecology, the social sector, media, and documentary film. With our commitment, we want to contribute to the protection of the climate, soil and ecosystems, enable equal opportunities and social inclusion for all, promote a balanced media diversity and support documentary films related to these topics.
We emphasis a systemic programme approach, the use of synergies, and an interdisciplinary way of working, so that not only symptoms are alleviated but also root causes of social challenges are addressed.
Funding application for the ecology sector
In order to minimise your workload, we work with a two-stage application process in the Ecology Sector. Thanks to this procedure, we can give you prompt feedback on your enquiry and the possibilities for cooperation:
- Application for preliminary assessment
- Funding application via online form
As a first step, you are welcome to briefly describe your project to us in the application for preliminary assessment form. Before completing the form, please check whether your application fits in with the Volkart Foundation’s strategic funding focus. You can find information on this under Commitment and Ecology.
Please pay attention to the specified word limit and do not send us any additional attachments. Please send your completed form by e-mail to svenja.marquardt@volkart.ch.
There is no deadline for submitting an application for preliminary assessment. The review may take a few weeks. Depending on the outcome of the preliminary assessment, you will either receive questions about your project, an invitation to submit a funding application via the online form or a rejection. For capacity reasons, we do not give reasons for negative decision.
If you are invited to apply, it will be reviewed by the Commission on Ecology, which meets around three times a year.
